WG1 supports ENSREG in its role of providing strategic advice to the European Commission on nuclear safety matters, and reports directly to ENSREG members.

WG2 supports ENSREG in its role of providing strategic advice to the Commission on the safety of radioactive waste management, spent fuel and decommissioning.

ENSREG WG3 on Transparency and public information objective is to make nuclear safety information and the work of ENSREG publicly accessible.

Nuclear plant operators and national authorities must: develop and test emergency plans at local, national and international levels , assign clear responsibilities for preparedness and response,
ensure resources are available to handle an emergency effectively.
